Low-income consumers may hold the key to companies’ survival in the worsening global crisis. Jaime August Zobel de Ayala II, chairman and CEO of Ayala Corp., told business leaders at the 7th Management Association of the Philippines (MAP) International CEO Conference on Oct. 7, 2008 that companies have to take a serious look at providing products and services for the low-income market segment to continue to expand and remain viable in the tough business climate. “Firms can adopt unique business models to serve the low-income market,” he said. “Companies can be profitable in serving that environment.” (Click 'Download' for full story)
