Not yet a member? Sign-up here. ING Bank Manila proved again its leadership in the fixed income market after bagging the “Best Fixed Income House” for the eighth straight year in the recent Fund Managers Association of the Philippines (FMAP) Banks and Brokers Poll.
Six ING Bank executives also garnered individual awards in various categories, with ING Bank economist Joey Cuyegkeng leading with two awards as the “Best Fixed Income Economist” and “Best Fixed Income Strategist.” Noel Reyes, perennial winner in the “Best Fixed Income Trader (Foreign Currency)” category; Charles Chua, 2nd runner-up in the Best Fixed Income Trader (Foreign Currency) category; Lisha Felipe, 1st runner-up in the Best Fixed Income Sales Person (Foreign Currency); Abigail Tan, 2nd runner-up in the Best Fixed Income Sales Person (Foreign Currency); and Cedric Reyes, 1st runner-up in the Best Fixed Income Trader (Local Currency) category. FMAP is an organization of equity and fixed income managers that was established in 1997 with the mission of fostering the development of the capital and financial markets. It is currently composed of 158 individual members from 43 institutions comprising of banks, insurance companies, mutual funds, pension funds, schools and domestic corporations. It has been conducting the Banks and Brokers Poll annually since 2001 to give recognition to equities brokers and fixed income houses that have given quality service to its member institutions. Earlier, ING Bank has also been named “Best M&A (Mergers & Acquisitions) House” for the Philippine market at the 20th Euromoney Awards for Excellence 2011 in Hong Kong last July. Established in 1990, ING Manila is the first foreign universal bank providing multi-product financial services to international and local clients and is the most active supporter of the government’s privatization initiatives. The awards are a testament to ING Bank’s strong franchise in local debt capital markets, fund management, loan syndications and corporate finance transactions. “The Philippine market will continue to attract more investor interest because of having world-class companies that offer great shareholder value,” said Consuelo Garcia, ING Bank country manager. |
