A special running event that successfully raised funds for the homeless recently won in the 2011 Philippine Quill Awards, which recognizes best practices and the highest level of achievement by communicators in thought leadership, technical skills and sustainable solutions in their successful programs.
Dubbed “Running 20,” the event held on December 11, 2010 at the Bonifacio Global City in Taguig City was mounted by ING Bank. N.V. in Manila to celebrate its 20th anniversary in the country. The Philippine branch of the Dutch financial giant, in partnership with Habitat for Humanity Philippines, raised P1.8 million for the construction of more homes at the ING Village in Calauan, Laguna. “Running 20” won an Award of Merit in the Special Events category under Communication Management. Antonio Jacinto, ING Bank Director of Corporate Clients, received the trophy from the officers of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Philippines, during the awarding ceremony last Nov. 28, 2011 at the Crowne Plaza Galleria Manila in Quezon City. “We are very much honored to be conferred the Philippine Quill award for our efforts to provide shelter for the families displaced by Typhoon Ondoy and the informal settlers along the Pasig River,” said ING Bank Country Manager Consuelo Garcia. “This is the first time that ING Bank entered this competition and this will embolden us to become a more consistently responsible organization.” Now on its 10th year, the Philippine Quill Awards is considered the “most prestigious and relevant award for business communicators in the country,” said IABC Philippines. Awardees join a select circle that meets and sets the standards of excellence in professional and excellent business communication. |
